How does "free" work?

My EAs are normally sold on the MQL5 marketplace. Here you can get a license for free through an affiliate partnership: when you sign up with one of my recommended brokers, they support my work — so I can pass the software on to you at no charge. Pick an EA (or multiple), open your broker account, send me your details, and receive your license.

Which account type should I choose?

At Fusion Markets I recommend the Zero account, and at BlackBull Markets the Prime account. Thanks to their very tight spreads, these account types work out noticeably cheaper overall than the Raw variant.

At Ultima Markets, pick the Raw Cent account — not the Standard one. Balances are held in cents, so you can run an EA live on a real account for just a few dollars, and the Raw spreads match how the EAs are built to trade — the cheapest realistic way to test an Expert Advisor before scaling up.

What is a Cent account?

A Cent account is a normal live trading account, except your balance and profit/loss are shown in cents instead of dollars. Deposit $10 and your account reads 1,000 — the same money, just counted in cents. Trades are scaled down to match, so one "lot" moves roughly a hundredth of what it would on a standard account.

That makes it the ideal way to test an Expert Advisor with real money — real spreads, real execution, real slippage — while risking only a few dollars. Once you're comfortable with how the EA behaves, you move up to a standard account and the same settings scale straight up. Ultima Markets offers Cent accounts; that's why it's my recommended broker for testing.

I already have an account with one of these brokers

You don't need to open a new account. Just contact your broker's support and ask them to move your existing account under "Tom Loebel" as your Introducing Broker. Once that's done, you're eligible for a free license just like a new client.

How long does it take to receive my license?

I check new requests and activate licenses once a week, on Sundays — so it can take up to a week to receive yours. The exact timing also depends on how long your broker needs to register TLFX as your Introducing Broker; once that is confirmed, your license is issued on the next Sunday check. You will always get an email from me once your license is activated, so you never have to sit and wait or check yourself — and if something is missing, I will email you about that too.

What if I already have an account with one of these brokers?

You don't need a new account. Just send an email to your broker's support asking them to move your existing account under TLFX as your Introducing Broker.

If your account is already registered under Tom Loebel as your Introducing Broker, there is nothing extra to do. Simply fill in the request form below with your existing account details.

Can I use the Expert Advisors outside the partner brokers?

The free license is tied to a partner-broker account. If you want to run an EA on a broker outside my partners, you need to purchase it directly on the MQL5 marketplace.

Can I test on a demo first?

Yes, in two ways. To backtest, download the free demo from the EA’s MQL5 page and run it in the MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester on historical data. To test it live with real execution and spreads, open a Cent account with Ultima Markets and run the full licensed EA for just a few dollars. On Ultima, make sure you choose the Raw Cent account — not the Standard one — so your spreads and costs match how the EA is built to trade. Opening the Ultima account through my link also qualifies you for a free license.

Is it really free?

Yes. There is no charge for the license. My partner brokers support my work through the affiliate partnership, which lets me pass the software on to you at no cost.

Can I use a different account for a different EA?

Yes. Each license is tied to one specific MT5 account number, so you need to submit the request form again for the additional account — pick the EA you want and enter the new account number. Repeat for every extra account / EA pairing you want to run.

Can I change the account I trade on?

Yes. As long as the new account is still with one of my partner brokers, just submit the request form again with your new account number, then send me a quick message with your old account number (the one the EA is currently licensed to). I'll activate the license on your new account and deactivate the old one.

I missed my chance to download the EA after requesting my license

Don't worry — you can grab the licensed version again right here. Pick your Expert Advisor and download it. These are the full licensed builds; each one only runs on an account that has been approved for it.

Can I use my license forever?

Essentially yes — there is no expiry date as long as you keep using the EA. The only exception is inactivity: if the EA is not used on your account for more than six months in a row, the license is revoked. Just reach out and I can reissue it if that ever happens.

Which platform do the Expert Advisors run on?

All TLFX Expert Advisors are built for MetaTrader 5 (MT5).

What happens if I restart MetaTrader 5 or the terminal crashes?

Nothing is lost. Your positions and pending orders live on the broker’s server, not inside MetaTrader, so stop losses and take profits stay active even while the terminal is closed. When MT5 comes back up and the Expert Advisor reloads on its chart, it picks up every trade it was managing and carries on where it left off, including its own break-even and partial take-profit levels. The on-chart dashboards come back with it: your settings are restored as you left them, and Forex Flipper’s Guard limits are held on my server per day — so a restart or a crash can never reset a daily limit or clear a lock. The one thing worth checking afterwards is that AutoTrading is switched back on in the MT5 toolbar.

Are these Expert Advisors profitable?

No profitability can be guaranteed. Trading carries substantial risk and past performance is not an indicator of future results — the Expert Advisors are trading tools, not a promise of returns. That being said, I am only publishing EAs I personally use and run on my own accounts.

Is it in your interest that I trade profitably?

Yes — completely. As an Introducing Broker, I only earn a small share of the spread or commission your broker collects while you trade. If you blow the account, you stop trading and I stop earning. So our interests are genuinely aligned: I want you to be profitable, because your success is what sustains this site and lets me offer the EAs for free.

Can the strategies be used directly as they are?

The default settings are not always optimised. It is therefore strongly recommended to run your own backtests.

What if I find a bug in an Expert Advisor?

Please email me or message me on Telegram (@tlfxorbit) with a short description of the bug. Make sure the name of the Expert Advisor and the word "Bug" appear in the subject line or the message.

Can I request features?

Yes. Reach out with your idea and if I consider it at least worth testing, I will build it and run my own tests. I will only add it to the Expert Advisor if those tests show a genuinely positive impact — so not every request makes it in, but every promising one gets a fair shot.
